English native speaker and Teacher from Canada - I'm ready to help you!

My name is Axl and I'm a native English speaker and TEFL qualified teacher from Canada. I first started helping people learn their English on a volunteer basis around 2016, and then started taking on serious students in 2018. I got my first 120-TEFL certificate in 2019, but since it was aimed at children, I did another in 2020 with an emphasis on teaching adults and exam preparation (IELTS and TOEFL). I hope some day to get a CELTA. Prior to this, I worked for nearly 10 years as a grant writer and communications assistant in a non-profit organization here in Canada.

I'm very dedicated to my students, and will work hard to support them. I work best with students who are equally motivated and who want to improve.

My lessons target the individual needs of my students. Also since as a student I hate doing boring lessons I try not to make them. I try to make material that's engaging and interesting, so we can learn while discussing interesting topics and having a good chat. I'm also always looking for new tasks to do with students, to keep things new and fresh.

Lessons include review documents and homework, as well as other materials to support you.

Conversational sessions are more casual and designed to reinforce what you're learning in other classes or your self-study program; they are filled with opportunities to compare, contrast, speculate, ask questions, and more!

I can also help you prepare for an upcoming exam. I have groups for students preparing for the B2 First and C1 Advanced exam, and material to help Linguaskill candidates at a B2 and C1 level. I am also experience with IELTS.
