Please allow me to introduce myself. I am a lifelong teacher from California, now living in Chile.
I am hoping to reach out to students who would enjoy working at their own pace to acquire another language. I have eight years’ experience teaching in Chile working in presentational classes and online classes. I believe that my strongest attribute is capturing students’ imagination and keeping them entertained, all while learning the structure of English and creating the spontaneous ability to communicate through the use of interactive techniques.
Having worked for many schools and companies, I believe that I can bring the best of each of these experiences to all of my classes and structure a class to match the student’s ability level and speed of learning. The goal of all language learning should be language acquisition, the ability to speak spontaneously without hesitation, from language which has become embedded in memory and is sparked by the stimulus of the situation. Using interactive techniques which teach students to speak without having to think about rules or vocabulary is the way to achieve this level of fluency.
